Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Bizworks Online Limited processes when you use BusinessCalculator.co.uk, and why.
Who is responsible
BusinessCalculator.co.uk is operated by Bizworks Online Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11958108. Registered office: The Studio, Brentmoor Road, Woking, Surrey, GU24 9NE. Bizworks Online Limited is the data controller for personal information processed through this site. For any privacy question or request, email info@businesscalculator.co.uk or use the contact page.
The figures you type into a calculator
Every calculator on this site runs in your browser. The values you enter, such as turnover, profit, salary, dividends, cash balances, invoice amounts, mileage, employee costs and CIS deductions, are used only to produce the result shown on screen. They are not sent to us, not stored on our servers and not written to any analytics system. Leaving or refreshing the page discards them.
The site contains an internal analytics layer that is designed to record usage events such as which calculator was opened or completed, never the numbers entered. No analytics provider is currently connected, so no usage events leave your browser at all. If that changes, this policy, the cookie policy and the consent controls will be updated at the same time.
What personal information is processed
- Emails you send us. If you write to info@businesscalculator.co.uk we process your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you choose to tell us, so that we can answer you. There is no contact form and no newsletter, so this is the only way you can send us personal information directly.
- Technical log data. Our hosting and content delivery providers record standard request information such as IP address, user agent, requested page, timestamp and response status. This is used to serve the site, keep it available and protect it from abuse.
There are no accounts, no sign-up, no advertising, no profiling and no sale of personal information.
Lawful bases
- Legitimate interests for serving the site securely and reliably, and for replying to correspondence you have started.
- Steps at your request where an enquiry could lead to a business relationship, for example a commercial enquiry.
- Consent for any non-essential analytics or similar technology, if and when such a service is introduced. None is active today.
- Legal obligation where we have to keep or disclose information by law.
Who processes information for us
We use service providers to run the website itself. At present these are the Lovable platform, which builds and hosts the site, and its content delivery network, which serves pages and holds the technical logs described above. We do not use an email marketing platform, an advertising network, an analytics provider or an affiliate network at this time. Only providers that are actually in use are listed here, and this list is updated before any new service is switched on.
Email sent to info@businesscalculator.co.uk is handled through our email provider, which stores messages in the ordinary course of delivering them.
Where information is processed
Content delivery and email services of this kind commonly involve infrastructure outside the UK. Where that happens, the provider is relied on to have appropriate safeguards in place for international transfers. The specific transfer arrangements of each provider are being confirmed and this section will be made more precise once that is done.
How long information is kept
Technical logs are kept for the short periods our providers apply for security and reliability. Email correspondence is kept while the matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can pick up a related question later, then deleted. We have not published a fixed retention schedule, and we would rather say that plainly than quote a period we do not actually operate to.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies. The only browser storage used is one strictly necessary session entry that remembers your scroll position. Full detail is in the cookie policy.
Commercial links
There are no active affiliate partners, so no commercial or tracked links appear on the site. If that changes, following such a link would take you to another company's website, where its own privacy policy applies, and the affiliate disclosure will identify the relationship at the point you see it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for access to your personal information, and for correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or to object to processing. These rights do not apply in every situation, and we may need to keep some information where the law requires it. Because we hold very little, most requests concern email correspondence. Write to info@businesscalculator.co.uk and we will respond within the statutory time limit.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would ask you to raise it with us first so we have a chance to put it right.
Changes to this policy
This policy is reviewed when the site's behaviour changes, for example if analytics or an affiliate partner is introduced. The review date below reflects the last substantive review, not the last deployment.
