Cookie policy

This site sets no cookies at all, and uses one strictly necessary item of browser storage.

What is in use today

We checked the site's actual behaviour rather than describing what a typical website does. Loading any page of BusinessCalculator.co.uk, including every calculator, sets no cookies, first-party or third-party. The only thing written to your browser is a single session storage entry that remembers where you had scrolled to, so that using the back button returns you to the right place. It contains no personal information, no identifier and none of your figures, and your browser deletes it when you close the tab.

There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Because there is nothing optional to consent to, there is no cookie banner. Showing one would be asking permission for something that does not happen.

Nothing else is stored. No cookies, no local storage and no third-party storage are set by this site.

Your browser and our content delivery network still exchange ordinary technical information such as your IP address in order to send you the page. That is described in the privacy policy rather than here, because it is not cookie or similar storage.

If that changes

Two things could introduce optional storage in future: a website analytics service, and affiliate links that a partner network tracks. Neither is active. Before either is switched on we will publish the specific cookie names, providers, purposes and durations in the table above, and add a consent control offering accept, reject and manage preferences, with reject no harder to reach than accept. Non-essential technology will not load before consent is given.

UK guidance in this area is being updated following the Data (Use and Access) Act, so we are taking the conservative route rather than assuming an exemption applies.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Doing so will not affect anything on this site, since we set none. If you have a question about storage on this site, email info@businesscalculator.co.uk.

Other websites

Links to GOV.UK, HMRC, the Bank of England and other sources take you to sites that set their own cookies under their own policies. We have no control over those. Our approach to commercial links is set out in the affiliate disclosure.
